This month, I saw first-hand how a culture of service and feeding is ingrained in the Indian culture. Feeling more comfortable with us, many of the older boys who we feed jumped in and started serving the food to the younger children. They weren’t asked to nor expected to, rather they wanted to serve. For me, it is an expression of their humility and care that Indians here seem to give naturally to each other.
While the Sai Maa Vishnu Shakti Trust has the honor of being able to host and sponsor these monthly feedings, it seems each month the children are giving back to us tenfold – in their enthusiasm and the natural wisdom they embody.
