On January 26, India celebrates its Republic Day. For the second year in a row, I am honored to be the chief guest at the Shiva Ji Mission School, a place for underprivileged children to get an education. The Just One Hunger Initiative sponsored by the Sai Maa Vishnu Shakti Trust is fortunate to have the opportunity to provide food in celebration of India’s national holiday to these children.
There are more than 500 children today, as other schools have come to participate in the celebrations. After those schools leave, I watch as the 320 children from the Shiva Ji Mission School are lined up to receive their fruit and sweet as they exit. There is no school today, only the celebrations, and they leave with smiles on their faces and food in their stomachs.
