Warm winter for children

Providing warm clothing to underprivileged children in a dangerously cold Winter

Nov 2010 - Jan 2011
Varanasi, Lalitpur, & Vrindivan, India
In Northern India, many people die in the wintertime due to insufficient clothing, warmth, and shelter. Thus the goal of Making It a Warm Winter for the Children was to give one hat, sweater, pair of gloves, and pair of socks to as many underprivileged children as possible In the winter holiday season of 2010 – 2011, 1,721 children in total across three cities received new, warm clothing due to tremendous support from individuals and Sai Maa centers  around the world.

  • 150 children at the Little Rose Convent School. Living in severe poverty, each student received a sweater, hat and socks. This school is run by a man who in loving memory of his mother offers the children a free education. The school is not supported by the government, and there are no funds to feed the children. Volunteers at this school had the delight of chanting with the children.
